So I’ve been on these forums for literally hours and can’t seem to find an answer. I have a 2003 Honda Civic EX coupe that I recently purchased off my coworker. He says the last code it was throwing was something about “fuel mixture was too rich” before it stopped running. I narrowed the problem down tot he alternator which I replaced. Car now turns on and I’ve driven it to work a couple times. Today a CEL came on on my home so I took my OBD2 scanner and went to check the code out... no power to my scanner. I’ve looked everywhere for an answer to no avail. I’m new to Honda’s so I will appreciate some help. I checked all the fuses under the hood and they’re all good. (Probably shouldn’t have taken them all out individually to check them because it’s gonna reset the ECU and erase the code but you live and learn.) Gonna do the paper clip method in the morning so I’ll wait on that. I was beginning to think it was possibly ECU but some of the symptoms don’t match up... The following is the list of symptoms my car has.
when at a red light or stop sign the idle runs a little low. Car doesn’t turn off but it is pretty low... probably 500-700 rpm
just had an inspection done and they said “there’s
moisture on the return line on the power steering pump, not leaking but will soon”
no power to OBD2 port
i do notice the little green key light pop up when I have the key in (not sure if normal) doesn’t stay on just blinks a couple times
Again any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks 2003 Honda Civic EX coupe, 136k miles
You ever figure it out? My car has matching immobilizers etc, green key won't stop flashing, started turning off after 10min not turning on again, and now it doesn't start but cranks. No power to OBD, went thru every fuse with a continuity tester
