Default 98 Civic Cracked Exhaust Manifold

Pardon me if this is old news but I have a 98 Civic (single cam) with integrated manifold and converter that is cracked at the upper 02 sensor. Already had it brazed onece but cracked again. I would like to find out the cheapest fix possible. This car is a beater that I use for commuting only. My wife refuses to be seen in it. Is this replacement manifold/cat they sell on eBay any good?

Thanks, Al

you already have tried the cheapest fix by having it welded your next step is after market replacement or converting to an ex exhaust which puts the cat under the car separately from the manifold. either way its going to cost you.

$200 seems about right if you are going for cheap. Woman needs to know life could get much worse than a Civic

Are these parts easily available and inexpensive since folks upgrade to headers? Also what years would fit. I have a friend who does custom exhausts, so just need the parts that can work, we'll bend and weld.... Thanks, Al

easily available, yes. I am sure they are available at local part outs/junk yards, ebay. the cat is going to be the toughest to figure out unless you buy something universal and weld.

I am sure there are worse, slower vehicles out there. At least what you have is reliable and that's all that matters as long as she has money to shop with
