Have a 1999 civic dx and want to make it faster. Need suggestions on what to get and/or where. Specifics would be helpful.

I'm new also. Planning on doing some work to my '97 Civic EX. MY parents just bought it for me since I got my license. Pretty stoked. It's in good condition. Minus some scratches on the front and rear bumper, from being parked in Chicago, and some dumbass tried to shut the hood with the arm that holds the hood up, and it cracked and bowed the hood out. I'm going to replace it sooner or later. If anyone else has suggestions for me. I'd also appreciate it.

u should ask urself a couple questions befor u start any mods. do i wana stay N/A? do i want a turbo? do i wana stay N/A now and turbo later? wuts my budget? show car or race car or a lil of both? just some of the important questions u should ask urself. i suggest before going out and buying all the junk for ur car, take the time to research, research, research, and research some more untill u find the road u wana go down. and while ur researching, save up some money so when the time comes, u'll have enough to do what u want and do it right the first time. i wish i woulda been able to do that but w/e, im still content with wut i have now..

most people just go the basic route of getting either a short ram or cold air intake, performance header, and a catback exhaust. just depends upon your budget. but yeah, if you want to turbo it later, skip the header. do some more research on all the threads on the website, there are a million threads just like this to look at...
