Ok, I just recently "obtained" a new honda civic lx 07
Now as a teenager, i am totally excited about a new car. However, as any other teenage guy would be thinking
Whats it got inside?
So... to make things quick, I've been looking around, and I think its just best to ask here.
My car has 140 hp and i think like 117 torque.
Whats the best way to increase that. I have the money. I wanna start on the smaller things 1st,
that meaning, no superchargers and such...

 

trade it in for a SI. i had the LX, not much you can do to it right now because alot of things are made for the SI. on my LX i stayed with looks, no perfomrance. had all customized sound and interior, and exterior was nice to. had a N1 style muffler on it, nothing big, just a lil sound to it. also had Chrome 20's on it. i never seen so many people lookin at a civic like they did mine, i was twisting necks. well none the less. i sold my LX for 16,500.00 stock. had it for 11 months, and put 20,000 miles on it. paid around 17,100 when i first got it. so then i sold everything out the car peice by piece. bought the new SI. if you find stuff for your LX, your a good hunter, cu i couldnt find much. let me know tho, cuz my cousin has one as well.

let me know if you need any custom stereo stuff cuz i do have some things left and get new stuff all the time. i help people do sound and stuff in there car.

try CAI and exhaust. thats all i can think of

 

actually i would totally get the SI except, 1 im a teenager =\ 2. My rents got it, I'm not in the position to sell it, and if i do theyll prob, kill me, so thats outa the question. And 3. I was hoping for looks but I can't find anything interesting... liek ive looked... but its all just =\ and its a 4 door... yes i know... pathetic, but hey, you work with what you got, and im sure as hell happy for a 20k car.
So that being said... Any advice on looks OR my original hp and torque problem?
Btw, did you sell it to the dealer?

 

naw i sold it to some girl... mommy and daddy bought it for her because she wanted it so bad. lol. her dad wasnt big on it, but after i talked to her for about 30 minutes about it, and told her why she needed it, i guess she begged them enough. wut color did you get? mine was a dark blue. my SI is a darker Grey color. i suggest chrome wheels, those are flashing but dont get the ghetto boy style ones, mine were 20's, but there wasnt too much goin on with them that they looked tacky. i had 80 white women in the suburbs sayin how much they liked me car. and my windows were 5% all around. i say, black out the windows, cold air intake, possibly exhaust, some type of body kit, rims, and stereo, and you'll be good to go. it will deff look nice. and if you need 20's, i got some brand new ones over here. also got that custom louis vuitton sub box for a 12" woofer which is made for 06+ civic trunk. slides all the way ot the back and fits perfect.

 

hey im definately thinkin body kit, but i have no clue which one, i mean like ive been looking, whats your opinion? or if you'd have any suggestions, i'd be thrilled. and i am pretty sure 5's are illegal where i live =] but as for tha sub. how much you askin?

im 17 years old and I have a 07 civic si...doesnt matter how old you are lol. Just matters if your parents like to throw money around and if your willing to put a downpayment on it. Age means squat, if you have a license your capable of getting what you want if u have the money, and if ur mommy and daddy approve of it, dont let age be an excuse. I would talk to them about trading it in for an SI, im very happy with it, and im in the process of buying parts for it. CAI will be my first performance part. I agree with the guy that says trade it in, trade it in.

 

im talking but if i seem ungrateful im screwed? (can i say effed?? like is it against the rules) ya... sooo im waiting a yr.. i got good money... got a tutoring job pays 300 a week =] sooo i should def have enough cash to eliminate that problem.. my rents r the overprotective kind that are freaked out about fast cars... doesnt help that my mom owns a buisness for DUI's amnd reckless driving =\ I think ive decided ima stick to audio, a nice spoiler my dad got me and maybe a hfp kit and trade it in in a yr...

 

once you get the SI beef it up and race it you'll be pullin more then 300 in a week. tell the rents its a long term investment. LOL. nae but i am selling the sub for $350, and the box for 200. the sub actually just sold but i can still get one brand new in the box from rockford. i get discounts because of where i work. i am only 20 and i bought a integra for 10,500 when i was 16. turned out the car was in a wreck and the dealership never told me. so they gave me a 3.2CL to shut me up and stay out of court. when i got $5,000 saved up, i sold the AC 3.2CL and bought my 2006 civic LX, then last month some girl liked it and i sold it to her. (daddy paid 16,500 for it) car was 1 year old and had 22,000 miles on it. so basically, hustle your brains out and move up in time. dont waste money putting into this new one if your just gonna want a SI next year. wut you put into this new car you wont get back... not unless the person has the same taste as you and wants to same color and stuff included. i sold my 06 LX without my 20's and without the stereo. they just got the stock car, and limo tints. feels good paying cash for a brand new car, but insurance is the devil!!! so save your money for something new unless your planning on keeping this thing for years to come.

 

i'm also a new 2007 civic owner. i went with the EX though, was worth the extra money IMO.

although at first i couldn't find many parts, but i've found several sites now that carry some stuff that'll work on an EX. www.procivic.com sells stuff that works. there's not much outside of exhaust and other basic upgrades, but it's better than nothing, and i'm sure more parts will come out in time.

my plans for upgrades are, for the time being, limited to looks. i'm putting the honda HFP aero kit on, as well as fog lights. i'm also looking at aftermarket tail lights, maybe halo's for the headlights. eventually i'll get a sport exhaust and intake system, but that's further down the road from here.
