AEM filter

I have an AEM V2 SR intake and the rubber ends on the filter are dry-rotted and shot to hell. I just ordered a new filter, but I was wondering if I could put some kind of lube on JUST the rubber ends to prevent my new filter from dry-rotting again?

silicone spray? just don't get any on the filter
