Default Air Intake whistles

Hey, sorry if this question was already asked. I tried to search real quick and didn't find anything. Anyways, I was wondering how to make my AEM SRI stop making a whistle noise. It only does it when I push down a certain amount on the gas. I'm going to be buying a new AEM CAI soon so I don't want to waste $30 on a new air filter so I was wondering if there is a quick fix for this?

Thanks in advance,

ya man, thats how its soppoed to be, CAI do it less, you cant even really hear them, but SRI do it pretty loud, some anyway, its just the air getting sucked..we had a big thread on this before, everyone liked the noise, i think it sounds pretty cool

It depends actually. WHen I first got my civic, it was making a whistling noise, with NO AFTERMARKET INTAKE. I changed the filter and cleaned out the box, and it went away. What kind of filter do you have on there? You could always try a re-charge kit if it will work with your type of filter. That should clean the filter enough to open the passageways back up enough to not whistle.

It should sound like air getting sucked in at a high velocity, not like a whistle
