Another "Which Exhaust?" thread

Ok I know these have been cropping up a lot but you guys know me and I assure you this is specific questions in which I am relaying on your experiences and Knowledge.

I am in the process of doing a Y7 to Y8 exhaust conversion. have my Megan 4-2-1 2 piece SS header and my Magnaflow Direct Fit Cat. I however have not been able to get a Catback system I like.

I wanted an ExMag bit none exist in North America as far as I can tell (the 92-00 version) and RSR is not about to run another batch any time soon. Plenty of GT2s, but that is not what I want.

RSR has EX mag mufflers on their website so I tried to get that and a nice midpipe section....can't get either.

I really want to fix my exhaust but don't want to use an Apexi WE-2. It is a nice system, but I want to be different then all you people. I found a Monza Exhaust by Pacesetter but these are crap systems from what I have read. Sound like ass and they are not even made of stainless steel. Could use a magnaflow but the sound is not quite what I like.

After much review I have settled on 2 choices.

Tanabe Super Medalion Hyper
More Expensive of the 2 choice, but has a nice sound and look. Lightweight, high strength, ISO 9001, yadda yadda yadda. Can;t find a D16 with this exhaust but these 3 sound pretty good so I figure mine will sound close. There is one of a Del Sol but I think it is teh racing spec, not hyper spec.

OBX Type-H Exhaust system
Cheaper choice but still has a street usable sound. If I buy this I may have enough left over for new headlights and fog lights.

Those are my choices. What I need from you guys is what you have heard experienced with products from these 2 companies. Fitment; Quality; customer service; all of these things. Cheap is good, but not if my system falls apart after a year.

Thanks in advance for all the help.

Tanabe Super Medallion Hyper sounds better than the OBX.

I have no experience with either but i've heard the Tanabe is a quality unit, while OBX tends to make really cheap crappy parts.

Tanabe rocks I had one of their down pipes on my 87 Supra Turbo. It was a very nice high quality down pipe. +1 on OBX being on being so great the sound will be a bit ricey.

Can't go wrong with the Apex'i World Sport 2. :D

I had an OBX Twin Loop and it sounded great. Its the only OBX product Ive had experience with, but it def wasnt crap or ricey sounding. Never had a Tanabe, but I have seen them at local meets sounding pretty loud, not my thing. I personally like Megan mufflers with custom bent pipes from a shop.

the obx sounded really nice but just to loud.

Ok so I am having trouble with the tanabe, I may have something else though, I just need to wait a few weeks.

In the mean time I can't stand my exhaust much longer so I need a quick fix and then I found this.

http://www.amazon.com/OBX-Type-H-Exhaust-92-00-Honda/dp/B001UUP2N4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1238567260&sr= 8-2

That is pretty much a Knock off Greddy Evo 2 for a ridicules price And from what I have read OBX's exhausts are fine. So this will be an interim fix until I can get something I want.

I was considering just putting on the Megan header and magnaflow high flow and then welding a flang onto my stock piping but the idea of going from a 64mm header and cat down to a 38mm exhaust sounds bad to me.
