For those that want an intake, be prepared for noise! Here are two sound clips, before and after, in an MP3.

Right-click Save Target As... on these links.

Short Ram Intake

NOTE: Computer speakers can not replicate the sounds a car makes very well. Neither can a $8 Radio Shack Mic. You NEED a big subwoofer if you want to hear the difference. Believe me, its the difference between an engine sound that screams RPM and an engine sound that beats your soul out of your bones!

It didn't come with instructions, and I am concerned about the rigidity of the setup. Here are pictures of the install...

Anyhow, it rained even more today. I went through a huge puddle (OK a small lake) and I popped the hood and found the bottom of the air filter to be soaked. The engine didn't suck up water this time, but I want to put something that can protect the bottom of the filter from splashdown.

Where can I get a plate that fits over the pipe and protects the bottom of the air filter from soakage? Keep in mind that this is also to keep the filter from gunkifying with muck that is attached to the water...

Yeah. It usually comes with a CAI...but I assume it's designed to direct airflow and also act as a barrier from engine heat. I can see it being turned in a way that would prevent water from underneath splashing in, but I don't know if they're sold separate from a CAI.

Try having a cheap intake and cheap headers that leak! [8D] Now that's loud.

damn you're in the keys? nice islands. i love it down there. i wanna get a place in key west. but when it rains there...it RAINS. good idea going for the SRI.

you should get a K&N filter for that. it will probably quiet it down a bit.
