Default Best system

Stright out, whats the best. I know its a overly generic question, but whats the way to go. I have a standard engine 1.6L Civic, and plan on putting a intake of some sort on it, but thats it. Whats the best size, system and brand for good low rpm grunt. I dont care about how loud it is. Infact I love hearing my car echoing up the street. Im guessing 2" headers, high flow cat, and a small cannon on the back?

small cannon on the back?

lol.

as far as low end grunt. your best bet will be to upgrade to 4-2-1 quality header (NOT THAT CHEAP EBAY CRAP).

a good 4-2-1 header will allow the gas pulses in your engine to properly collect into one pulse and exit out your car's exhaust efficiently, causing you to gain torque down low.

Hytechs make the best on the market, but i don't think you wanna pay that much for one.

4-1 headers are for top-end screaming, which would be useless for you unless you had a GS-R, ITR or Kseries engine.

Good defense Firk.

If you know what you're looking for Ebay stuff is fine. Just ask the seller specific questions, like diameter of piping, gauge of piping, welding methods used. You can usually spot the junk by the seller's response, if the ad didn't already tip you off. Sorry, but $300 is too much for a header.

nonsense. good headers will free up your engine blocks breathing efficiency, which makes all the difference in the world.

think of them as your lungs.

I'll give ya that.

Ebay is definately a risk though. You might get lucky and get a good honest seller, and the header might have real nice welds. Or it could crack within a few weeks. Its a risk, and you USUALLY get what you pay for, but not always.I got an ebay header and i love it but im not expecting it to last much longer, and neither should you if you go ebay
