Default Brand name CAI vs no name CAI...

I might get flamed for this and all but I just figured id post it anyway.

I know the prefered intakes are Injen and AEM hands down... These run for around 100$ + or - depending on variations.
But i wondered performance wise what would be the difference using a generic no name intake. I figured it would be the extremly close if at all not noticible. I understand quality and materials might come into affect. But intakes dont realy take that much wear & tear. Granted of course i would be using a high quality filter for instance K&N.

What views do you guys have on this?

I think people around here definitely prefer name brands for max performance but I think everyone could agree that that a cheapo and a K&N filter is an improvement over stock. I have a cheapo and love it.

A lot of times it's also a question of fit and performance. The expensive ones undergo significant testing and refining to get them to deliver the best possible flow volume, and also to make sure they actually fit the vehicle they are disgnated for. Not that cheap ones never fit, but a lot of people do complain about them not fitting correctly.

As expected a name brand like AEM (what I've got) or Injen, is best. Theyre the best design, fitting, performing, and tested. But a no-name with a good K&N filter is still much better than nothing at all.

So basicly besides fitting for the most part i can peice together a non brand name pipes and slap on a good filter for about 1/4 the price and get extremly close results and performance.

Ive also been researching on simular kits like turbos as well... gonna piece me together a get kit to get simular performance... more bang for my buck till i get me an engine swap , im going for el' super cheapo mods with close to same performance.

thx for feed back guys... only been a member for a few days and you guys have made me feel at home . I have learned lots from ya...
