Default CAI adapter?

one of my buddies told me that a CAI isnt an actual "CAI" unless it has a small sensor that is drilled into it kind of like a BOV is screwed in on turbo piping. he says he wants to put one on his but he cant find one on the internet. is this true.?

umm... your friend's an idiot. A piece of pvc pipe and a piece of window-screen is a cold-air intake as long as it places the filter (or window-screen, in this case) away from the engine's hot bits. Civic CAIs tend to place the filter behind the front bumper, which is definitely out of the engine bay and away from the hot air.
