CAI...IN THE RAIN??
 

Whats the deal about cai and driving in the rain I live in miami and im starting to thinks its not such a good idea to get a cai...can someone clear this up for me thanks

I live in florida too, and I think your a DUMa$$ if you put a CAI, first it rains like every second, and if you get rain in the intake, it goes to the engine, and boooom hydrlocing occurs.But if you do get a CAi get a Bypass valve.or do what im a going to one of these days geta AEM SRI.

cold air intakes are fine in the rain......in order to have hydrolock youd need to completly submerge the air filter in water.....it rains a lot in jersey too.......but i dont really see too many puddles that reach the 2.5 feet height needed to submerge my intake filter.

if you going to install a cold air intake just get a bypass valve it will prevent water from coming in your engine if water did get a chance to get in your intake.

Bypass valves rob 2-3 Hp from the CAI which would put you pretty much right back at stock. Either dont worry about hydro-lock or just get a SRI.

Exactly. So a by pass valve is pretty much a piece of crap that just give company easy money and waste your money. By pass valve are overated.

so far as i've read from AEM and heard, the v2 produces more power than an AEM CAI even tho it doesn't bring in cold air, so if you got the money, get a v2 and don't even worry about the water, bypass valve, or any of that crap.
