CAI vs. short ram
I am wanting to get a new intake, but Im wondering what the differences between a CAI and short ram are. Im having trouble deciding which to get.
I have saw an intake that can be converted from CAI to short ram, and short ram into CAI, anyone have one of these? Would it be a good intake to buy? Any help explaining these would be appreciated. |

If you have question, first use this site's search function, if nothing answers you Q, then ask away in a new post.

RE: CAI vs. short ram
CAI: better top end power, quieter/deeper tone, more prone to hydrolocking since filter is located down in bumper
SRI: snappier throttle response/better midrange power, filter located in engine bay, theoretically making it louder since the filter is closer to where you sit, no chance of hydrolock |
RE: CAI vs. short ram
hahaha +1 for this topic being a dead horse
and also +1 for using the Search feature, if you have a fairly generic question like this its probably been covered at some point, so use the Search |
RE: CAI vs. short ram
My "which one is better is still on this page too:-D

RE: CAI vs. short ram
How much louder would you say it would be. Would it get to be really annoying?

RE: CAI vs. short ram
no intakes sound good, fart cans will get annoying thugh
and Roto, your thread is still king :Dhaha |
RE: CAI vs. short ram
it sounds like a cow mooing when its CAI and SRI either way its the same sound.. CAI is just farther away from the firewall/glass where u cant hear it as much cuz the filter is in front of the passenger side wheel in the bumper instead of in ur engine bay
