Which cars have interchangeable exhaust?
 

So my girlfriend's 2000 EX 2dr coupe has a hole in the tailpipe near the muffler. Time for an upgrade! Now, I understand it depends on the chassis, but which ones are interchangeable? Does the trim matter at all? For instance, will the axleback from a 96-00 hatchback fit the coupe? Specifically, which models have the same axleback as an 00 EX 2dr? I'm curious about this 'cause I'm shopping for used performance stuff to save a buck. I poked around in the classifieds forum a bit. Anyone know of a chart somewhere that shows what fits what? Thanks!! Also, if anyone knows about high performance mufflers that are super quiet I would be interested in that...

96-00 coupe/sedan axle backs are the same. hatchback exhausts are different

trim does not matter when it comes to axle back

trim does matter when it comes to b pipe/mid pipes (DX/LX mid pipes are about 16" longer than the EX pipes, as the catalytic covnerter is integral to the header)

I am in the process of installing a header/cat/cat-back on my 96 honda civic HX. Will a catback that is made for a DX (coupe) be compatible with my HX??
