Cat for '96 EX

Cat for '96 EX
I just got my emissions testing done (manditory in Ontario), and I'm good for another 2 years plus, so I decided that I want to start doing some exhaust mods. I plan on starting by getting either an after market high-flow, or getting a universal and gutting it (just switch to an OEM next time I need to get tested), with a 2.25" inlet/outlet. But before I do that, I got a newb question....
Does the stock cat I have on it right now have a sensor on it? If it does, then I guess I need to get a high-flow specific for a '96, or an OEM for the '96, but that could get expensive.... If not, then universal would be easy.
Thanks

^ read up, but the EX cat does have a bung and a sensor in it, alot of the universal ones have a bung in them too. Dont get a cheap high-flow cat (ebay), get a Magnaflow or Randomstech, those are two of the only ones that actaully pass emissions.

Yeah I read that before. I remember it saying that a straight pipe is not much better than just getting a good high-flow. I wouldn't go with a cheap ebay one anyways. I've always been a fan of Magnaflow, and was actually considering getting one of their high-flow cats, but I spoke to a friend of mine who's been heavily involved with modding civics for the past 10 years, and he swears that getting a gutted cat orusing a test pipeyields much better results, but he's been running boost in his for quite a while too.... something I've also been considering for the future.
I also read somewhere on here before that getting a gutted cat would actually cost me power because of a loss of back-pressure (which, contrary to some myths, is acutally important). I guess I should just play it safe and get a good high-flow and eat the extra few bucks..... But nothings decided just yet.
Eventually I plan on going with 2.25" piping to a Magnaflow 14830 dual oval exhaust I have from my last car. I just have to mod the rear bumper a little to get the pipes out the back.
Thanks Flip.
