Catback

So, an exhaust system basically consists of a the exhaust pipe behind the cat converter and a muffler. So basically i wanna buy a pipe and a muffler, rather than pay a good chunk of change for a brandname one, from, say, dcsports. Anyone know what kind of muffler to ask for and what size diameter exhaust pipe should i get? I see people driving and they got that louder sound with a big exhaust pipe that's like chrome-looking. that's what i want. any one got any suggestions? thanks.

An exhaust "system" would be from the head all the way to the bumper. What you are rreferring to is a "cat-back." If you don't want to pay for a "name" then you will have to get an exhaust shop to do a custom job for you, unless you happen to have a mandrel bender at your house? I doubt any shops around you have one either so you will proably have to settle for crush bent. It's better than the stock stuff but not nearly as good as a "brandname" mandrel bent set-up. Magnaflow makes a good muffler and it wont' put too big a dent in your budget. Call around your area and see what they have for you and how much they want. 2.25" is what you want.

go for a quality catback system... its designed specifically for your setup. The angles, diameter and muffler have been tuned and you will get what you pay for.

it also seems like u assumed that it was a straight pipe... or a prebent one u can pick up at vip and throw on... it would be a pain to fit together the single peices from vip or sumthin.
