catback vs. piping
ok well i plan on getting the greddy evo catback system for my 92 civic lx 4dr, my friend says to get a greddy evo 2 muffler and buy 2.5 inch piping speerately cause it will be a lot cheaper, if i do this will i get the same hp gains and how much hp ca i expect to gain and will it sound like the greddy evo2 catback or different???

RE: catback vs. piping
well, the catback would probably have a resonator - i would get a resonator as well if i were to buy parts seperately. they'd probably be similar i guess - as long as the pipe bending is similar.

RE: catback vs. piping
you will get the exact same gains and sound as long as the welds are quality welds and not crappy

RE: catback vs. piping
You can definetly save money because you wont have to pay shipping on the pipes. I would just go to a midas and have them fab you up a 2.25 inch exhaust from the cat back, then have them weld a resonator in line after the cat, and weld the muffler on. It will work jsut as well.

RE: catback vs. piping
i thought midas doesn't do custom work.

Exactly what i did, besides going to midas. Too expensive though, just went to a custom muffler shop and had it welded on and custom piping |
