Default catback vs. piping

ok well i plan on getting the greddy evo catback system for my 92 civic lx 4dr, my friend says to get a greddy evo 2 muffler and buy 2.5 inch piping speerately cause it will be a lot cheaper, if i do this will i get the same hp gains and how much hp ca i expect to gain and will it sound like the greddy evo2 catback or different???

well, the catback would probably have a resonator - i would get a resonator as well if i were to buy parts seperately. they'd probably be similar i guess - as long as the pipe bending is similar.

you will get the exact same gains and sound as long as the welds are quality welds and not crappy

You can definetly save money because you wont have to pay shipping on the pipes. I would just go to a midas and have them fab you up a 2.25 inch exhaust from the cat back, then have them weld a resonator in line after the cat, and weld the muffler on. It will work jsut as well.

Exactly what i did, besides going to midas. Too expensive though, just went to a custom muffler shop and had it welded on and custom piping
