Custom Air Duct

I saw a couple cars with silver circles on their front bumper that have air ducts running to their air filter. I was wondering if anyone has done a DIY on something like this cause i couldnt find any,or if anyone can give me some ideas to start with.

Seems like it would give cold air directly to where its needed, the air filter. Will this help performance or just add rice look to a car?

save yourself some elbow grease, hydrolock headaches and residual car sale value. don't do it.

They're called "race cars" :)

I had a nissan sentra with an SR20 in it, and I made a custom ram air intake.........I used big ass piping and inside the grill there was a huge "Air Dam" that air was forced into........It worked well but when it rained I had to disconnect it and put an air filter under the hood.........WAY more trouble than its worth, just get a cold air intake.

What about making piping leading from the front lower grill over to the filter... i already have a CAI and the filter is inside the front right bumper so it wouldnt require that much piping.

And i would assume that a curving pipe restricts some water. plus rain isnt that big of a problem here anyways, and if it was i could alwaysuse a waterproof cover.

After thinking about it a hole in the bumper may be a little much expecially for my civic sedan but in the grill i think would be okay?
