d16y7 to d16y8 i/h/e

Ok so I basically know what im doing just had a few questions on lengths.

I buy the dc 4-2-1 header, install it. After the header is installed I know that I will lose my Cat.

By loosing the cat, will the Megan Racing Drift spec exhaust be long enough to go from the exhaust tip all the way forward to the bottom of the headers or do i need to get a resonator or what?

Like what I'm saying is what will be needed in order from header to exhaust tip for the install to work with no problems because I'm ordering all my i/h/e at once.

you will need an EX catalytic converter.

you can either get oem or aftermarket

^^^Word. or at least a test pipe which will sound like sh*t on your car. you will have no back pressure and itll probably make your car someowhat slower.

Well ****, there goes another $100~

Can local garage weld that up real quick? And I will need the o2 sensor wire extenders right?

And also, what is the lbs of torque needed for the headers?

Thanks for the help by the way!

yes, you will need o2 sensor extenders, and a local exhaust shop would weld it for you, I'm not sure about the torque, ill let someone else answer that.

an ebay test pipe ("high-flow cat") will fill the gap perfectly. It's not $100, more like $35 shipped. And passwordjdm.com sells o2 extnesions

^if you get the ebay test pipe, paint it with some "Rustoleum" spray paint. Those ebay test pipes rust really bad

croninc 12-09-2008 06:53 PM

or why not just get a cat and help out the earth lol? or atleast a highflow cat. It doesnt rob you of hp.

FlipHKD720 12-09-2008 07:26 PM

^ i agree a cat would be better, btu if oyu dont care and just wanna fill the gap a eGay test pipe will work.

As some warning, i thought i had a heat shield loose for the LONGEST time and couldn't figure out waht was wrong, ended up being hte honey comb on the inside of my eBay test pipe had broken off and was rattling around inside. Just letting you know what you might be in for. Or you might be fine. It's a risk.
