i've heard tons of different things about swapping a D16Y8 manifold onto a D16Y7 motor. i'm wanting to do this project myself and am wondering what parts i need and what all exactly needs to be done. please tell me al the information you know on this subject. if anyone wants to do a DIY on it with PLENTY OF PICS i would luv u. thanks

its in a magazine that i saw at barnes and noble the other day.. i read it because it was labled "how to get 30hp out of your d series for under 100$" and it was a d16y8 mani on a y7. from what i remember, it said you just need the mani and TB.

I'm guessing that we are talking about the intake manifold?

check http://turbod16.no-ip.com .. there is a walkthrough on there.. lacking some detail but has pics and stuff.. found it in forums while i was reading through some stuff about turbo's.. for the swap without TB.. should just need the manifold with the sensors still in tact .. get urself a new gasket .. and your Y7 TB will bolt right on.. just have to swap fuel rail etc .. relocate/extend some wires for sensors on TB and vacuum lines .. also if u have aftermarket intake you will have to purchase another for the Y8 manifold.. Y7 wont work unless you can try to modify it
