Dc Sport exust

hey all i just bought a dc sports muffler from (and i know it might be bad) pep boys. it has a 2.25" inlet 3.25" outlet tank length of 11.5" tip length of 2" with a total length of 16.25"ill add a pic so you know what your looking at and before i spend the money to get my pipes made and have it added i just put it over my current exhaust to see what it would sound like and i was disappointed in the fact that it really wasn't much louder if not quieter then my stock set. What i wanted to know is if when it is put on and everything will it sound better or is that pretty much the sound I'm stuck with. (just to let you guys know it was only $60 for the muffler and it will cost about $89 to have it installed) The Picture of the pipe can be seen here http://i55.tinypic.com/2sajckx.jpg

Wait, you put it over your tail pipe coming out of the OEM muffler? If yes, you expected to hear a sound coming from it?

You put a muffler on a muffler. So, of course it won't be loud.

I would expect that muffler to be somewhat loud and raspy. But that's just judging by the shape of it.
