Does brand really matter?

yea it will change the sound. AEM is probably hte most popular brand, but honestly unless you get the V2 intake, they're all just a metal tube with a filter. Get an ebay CAI, then get a nice AEM Dryflow filter adn you will be all set. Either that or drop the money for the V2, you definitely won't regret it, the V2 is one the best intakes out there.

hmm....well its manily SRI vs. CAI. CAI are usually a deeper tone, and since the filter is down in the bumper, fartehr away from where you are sitting you dont hear it as much (or so i've heard). The V2 is a unique intake, it is actaully two pipes, one inside another one, whereas a normal intake a just one metal pipe. It's dyno proven to give better gains, not sure about how it sounds vs. any other CAI or SRI though.

Not completly true, v2 varry a lot from each application, some are one tube and some are 2 tubes, some are cai and some are sri. I personally like short ram intakes better because of better throttle responce and you don't have to think twice about hydrolock, even though you usually dont need to worry about that with a cai either.

Flip meant that theproduct is two diff. diameter pipes connected, some applications require either SRI or CAI style in two pieces sometimes.

Mobsta i meant the V2 is a pipe inside another pipe, not that its two pipes connected with a coupler like most CAI's are.
