Default exhasut for a 88hatchback

looking for something for my hatchback. doesnt need to be super good performance, just sound good. can i just swap on a muffler or do i really need a full cat back exhaust. i just want it to look nice and sound good. i dont want the annoying lawn mower noise but the more deep tone. any help

IMO just get a full exhaust. Not that much difference from just a muffler in terms of price. However, there is a difference in performance. Full catback ftw

I stand corrected, getting a muffler and having it welded on to some 2.5' piping will get you the same hp gains as the full catback (Just read about it in some other threads). But only if the welding is done right, or so I have heard. Upgraded your exhaust system will supposedly increase your mpg, just don't expect alot though.

anything by greddy is good. with an exhaust, you lose some low tq but gain a little in high rpms
