Default Exhaust opinions

Hi Guys

Here's my current situation. I have a 96 Civic DX with 2 1/4" piping, resonator and Apex WS2 universal muffler. I drive on the average (one way)40 minutes to work daily. The soundis justtoo loud for me (I must be getting old)and was looking for a quiet muffler alternative. After researching on this board, I'm still not sure what my optionscould be. I thought about getting a flowmaster Delta 60 because it is a "chambered" design versus the "straight through" of the WS2. Anyone have experience with the Delta 60? Would a chambered muffler be quieter than a "straight through"?Also, is there some type of OEM muffler I could use to quiet down the ride, such as an OEM can from an RSX (would the size of the piping fit? 2 to 2 1/4")

Thanks for any help.

twin loop muffler ftw, it actually loops hte exhaustthrough the mufflertwice, quieting it down alot. Netami makes a reputable twin loop muffler, and Mugen makes an axle-back version but it's expensive as sh*t. RSR'sExMag catback exhaust has a twin loop for hte muffler, but that is quite expnesive as well.

And what kind of resonator you got? Bigger the better/quieter, and make sure to get a name brand. I'm notorius around here for recommending Magnaflow, i've got a 22" Magnaflow res and i love it, quieted my catback down ALOT, so thast what i'm gonna recommend.

The res is a 16" that I got at Meineke. It helped out a lot. I originally didnt have a res and the exhaust sounded terrible and just echoed inside the cabin. But now the sound is refined, but the level is still too loud.

if you've got a good resonator, i say then go for a muffler. Apexi makes good stuff, but if they're too loud for you i'd recommend a Netami twin loop, they sound aweosme. YouTube them for video clips. If you got the money, get a Mugen twin-loop, if not go for Netami, usually they can be had for like $120

you can always try a silencer (baffle) on your exhaust tip and see if it quiets it down enough for you. Befor you go and spend a whole bunch of money on another exhaust you might want to try that. They aren't that expensive like $15-$25, and make quite a noticeable difference. Then if it's still not quiet enough atleast you only spent $15 bucks.

check rsr site. I think they may have a muffler on sale. And they are quiet and gorgeous.
