Exhaust system help

My son (16 years old) has a 93 civic EX and we ned to replace the exhaust system. He's not a racer , but wants to upgrade his muffler. I am buying him the cat and pipes and muffler and he will pay the cost over the basic cost. I need to know a good upgraded muffler only that will increase his horsepower, will sound good and of course look good. I need a muffler that will basicly bolt in place with out modifications beyond adding a reducer so the muffler will fit if needed. Thanks AF1

RE: Exhaust system help

I would get a magnaflow muffler...but you'll need to weld the whole system together anyway...and add hangers to the muffler if you're not buying a catback designed for that car....if you're going with a custom system, nothing will "just bolt in place"

RE: Exhaust system help

i.e. don't just buy the muffler, get a full catback exhaust system. Look in the header/intake/exhaust section for tons of recommendations...

i'd get the magnaflow catback, it's what i have and it's awesome. nice performance gains and they look great.

In order to see any gains from the muffler, you'll have to upgrade the piping to 2.25", and you should also get a high-flow cat.

RE: Exhaust system help

an intake and header will open the exhausts potential even more.
