funny story/need opinions
Sup guys. When i bought my civic like a week ago the previous owner gave me the axle-back exhaust(stock) separate because he said it was rattling. i put it on when i got home and all was well, no rattling or anything. so i was driving up the street last night and BOOM BOOM BOOM THUMP SCRAPE! ...my exhaust(from the muffler and back) fell off the car! apparently a weld went bad or something.
Anyways, i'm on the market for a new axle-back and i'm looking at either a replacement for the stock one, or a somewhat quiet aftermarket. Any suggestions?

Nothing will be as quiet as stock. You can probobly find an intact axel back section in your local junk yard. However I recommended getting either a aftermarket axel back or full catback system.
Suggestions for quiet aftermarkets are
Apexi World Sport 2 [WS2] (Trustdestruction has a hard-on for these)
GReddy Sports Performance 2 [SP2] (I don't know anyone who runs this)
Or if you want to spend a little bit more money for an almost near stock sound you can get
RS*R ExMag. (a favorite around here but no one has it due to cost)
All of these systems are avaliable in axel and full catback to my knowledge.
Alternatively you can buy a muffler and get an exhaust shop to custom weld in some piping to connect it to the remainder of your system.
And just for reference sake, what Year and model is your civic?

it's a canadian 98 dx hatch. the only concern i had about reusing the stock muffler is that the piping has broke off right at the weld to enter the muffler. can that even be repaired or would i have to get a new one? i can get pictures up later if you can't get a visual of what i'm talking about.
