Header Installed

Pace Setter Header installed today. The flanges for the head pipe and the down pipe weren't flush so I had to have a custom gasget made cause it was leaking. Now it's fine, sounds really nice! Only thing, the crappy paint that's on it is already chipping lol. So I guess I'll be putting on some high temp paint, huh? How long do I have before the header will start to rust?

RE: Header Installed

yeah man i'd definitely recommend some paint and some cleaning up on that engine bay ;) i had to have the same thing done for my header, it wouldn't seal right with my mid-pipe, but good job on the install! :)

Nice job on the installation Bro.Do you feel some gains...You should of painted them before installing them..

Here look at my old thread. It shows in what condition I purchase my header. The paint I use from Summit Racing. I say how it's cure on the car while IDLING. Note like Dupli-color you need to bake them. That sucks and you can ruin your oven.

Thanks both of you. I'm gonna mark that page, and yeah, I can feel a difference. My old manifold was leaking, so it's definitely an improvement. And it shouldn't be hard to take it off, paint it, and put it back on, right? I'll just make sure I don't need my car for a day...

Keep the feedback coming!

even though it's fairly new if you take it off, i'd prolly use a new gasket

RE: Header Installed

you could always get some header wrap in black or something

RE: Header Installed

I've never wrapped a header before, and don't you have to do it really good to make sure it doesn't rust? Also, if it cracks under the wrap won't it be harder to notice than if it's just painted?
