RE: Header Q's?
a header will make the exhaust tone deeper. anyways, everyone will tell you to search... this has been covered a million times... here's all i'm gonna say:
get a dc sport stainless 4,2,1 header. end of story. its the most common, and it'll provide you with what you probably want.

RE: Header Q's?
the header does not make a noticeable difference in performance. it is not really worth it imo. it's more about appearance than anything else. dc usually runs from $260-350 ish. megan racing usually runs about 200

Megan will do you just fine, but if you live in Cali, DC are techinically carb legal, so you're gonna pay an arm and a leg to get one since they will pass emissions. I noticed a LITTLE gain with my ebay header, i imagine a nice name brand would give you better results thouhg. 4-2-1 is what you want, and ceramic disappates heat better than the stainless.

But seriously... if you want great performance out of a header, get a Bisi. They gain around 10hp at the wheels on a stock civic. In fact, Bisimoto headers tend to outperform $1200 and up headers. And the price tag isn't too high (it's about the same as a decent cat-back exhaust); around $500.
