Default Header Question

Im goin to buy a 4-1 megan racing header for my 2000Si and I want and know how to install it myself but my parents insist on me getting it installed by a shop or business because they think Ill snap a bolt or something.
I already installed my exhaust and i didnt have any problems then soooo...
should I be worried about snapping bolts and get a shop to do it or should i do it myself?

well i know that the exhaust manifold bolts on the head on my 97 civic werent a problem but the ones taht attach to your cat can and most likely will be the biggest bitch in the world. you can do it yourself but it will be a pain in the *** for those bolts

I know they'll be tough but Im worried about them snapping.... I dont have the tools to fix that sort of thing.
You think that won't happen?
Hmm im pretty sure when installing exhaust i unbolted those to get to the cat easier so those shouldnt be very hard this time right?

yeah, its pretty easy. Just make sure you torque everything down to specs. Do some more research first. Also read the stickies about headers and there should be a diy on here.

When you say torque everything down to specs you mean when im bolting the new one on right?
Ok thanks
Oh and how does the O2 sensor work, do you just unscrew it from the old one and screw it into the new one?

yes and yes

make sure if it's a 2 piece that you really make sure to torque the midway flange bolts down good. Also, never install a gasket on a dirty surface, always clean it first. You'll want to torque them down, and then once you're done installing take it around the block, and then let it cool down. After it is cold, torque the bolts again. Check them all again after about a day of driving and torque if necessary. You should be good after that.

Reason for this is that the heat/expansion of the header causes the nuts to slowly back off a little at first.

and idk where you'd plan on getting it installed in titusville anyway.

When retorqueing the bolts do you mean just the ones on the midway flange or all of them?
Also Im getting a 4-1 so i shouldnt have to worry about the mid flange anyway right?
