Default Header Sounds...

Okay quick question: On a 92 Civic LX Sedan (D15B7), how would the MagnaFlow "FULL" Cat-Back Exhaust sound paired up with A DC Sports 4-1 One Piece Ceramic Header, and a MagnaFlow Direct Fit High Flow Catalytic Converter?? Would the Header & the Cat make a difference in Exhaust Volume than the factory Cat and Manifold?? The reason I ask is because some people say that when you do Header(s) and such, that they DECREASE the Exhaust volume which doesn't make sense to me because if the air is passing out the engine at a more faster rate, wouldn't the Exhaust be louder/deeper in tone?? Just curious...

The header won't make a difference in sound with an inline-4 engine. And the difference in sound between a stock catalytic converter and a high-flow would be minimal. However, a catalytic converter will "clean up" the exhaust sound compared to a car running a test pipe, making the exhaust less raspy. I'd say just look for exhaust clips of the Magnaflow system on a civic on youtube; the sound difference between a cat-back and full exhaust will be next to nothing.

Sure it will, just not much. It'll be a little cleaner sound, but that's about it.

I didn't notice any difference at all when I threw a header on my civic. The mustang's a different story, but there's a bit of a difference between an OHV v6 and a SOHC I4

hmm, did you have intake and exhaust already when you put the header on?

Anyway, the change in sound was barely noticeable when I installed mine, but it did definitely clean up the tone and get rid of some of the rasp.

On my friends hatch which has a header it pretty much sounds the same as stock but if you really pay attention you can hear that it is a little lounder.
