ive noticed that something under my hood is giving off a, louder somedays than others, hissing sound. It started shortly after i put in my intake i believe. Anyone know whats goin on? also I am quite a while over-due for an oil change, what kind of affect is that having on my driving? (like losing power or what?) thanks

 

Does the engine idle weird? If it idles any differently then it used to, then you've probably got a vacuum leak somewhere. But, my guess is that you just aren't used to the sound of the new intake. And change your oil you lazy ***.

 

Make sure you connected up your intake correctly and tighten it down good. And after a couple of thousand miles or months the oil starts to break down. When this happens the oil will not be doing a good job of protecting your engine. The oil lubricates and protects your moving parts of the engine, as well as help to transfer heat out of your engine. Get it changed now and do it often if you care about your car at all.

 

yeah im thinking some kidda air leak, with an air leak there is more of a wine but it could be different with a new intake

 

i bet its the intake, mine is kinda loud.

yea its the intake mine does it to i popped the hood one day to check and it was..if u pull the throttle a little it kinda sounds like a B.O.V

 

yea, also when you first start your car up it would be louder than after the engine warms up, and your RPM's wind down. At least that's how it is with me.

 

It is your intake, mine does the same thing everyone thinks i have a turbo because it sounds like my car is spolling up.
