how to disconnect manifold from exhaust.

i am in the process of taking my manifold off and i loosend the bolts from the manifold to the exhaust and it doesn't seem to me that they are getting looser. Is there a nut or something on the backside of the flange where the spring is?

just take all the bolts off.... once the nuts are off the top motor block then half way down, then abolt or two under the oil block from a brace, then off the lower section....

when i changed mine it was on thier preaty good but just shaking it alittle while and it came lose and just pulled it off...

id sugest once ya remove the nuts put one nut on the upper block and one between sections... that way when ya start shaking it loose and it busts loose it wont fall off or fall on you if your under the car... ;)

i didnt need to.....
i believe the nuts/bolts are fine threads so just keep cranken counter clockwise ;)

O my bad.... your talken about the rear spring flange bolts........... ya those are not fastened solid... what i did was use some vis grips and clamp it on one side of the bolts or nuts... doesnt matter which ever side is hardest to get to!

most likely youll snap em! ;)
i always seem to.......... just go buy some new ones before ya snap em ;)
you can try to soak em down with some penitrating oil.... but thiers still a VERY SMALL MINUT POSIBILITY that the bolt wont snap.LOL

they have just had to much heat and rust on them to survive.LOL
