i need more power! help please?
i hav a 88 civic 4 door w b16a swap, aem fuel rail/fpr, skunk 2 cams,75 hp wet nos, jd timing gears, dc 4-2-1 header, custom 2 1/4 exhaust, aem cold air,msd ign./ coil and dist, field v-tech controller, what else can i do for some hp instead of turbo? i am only running a 15.2 sec 1/4 mile. my vtech controller is at 5000. should i lowerer it i have 18 inch rims , i know if i go back to 15 that will lower my times.
is the 15.2 on the bottle? that is high either way. personally, it doesnt sound like a power issue. you should be pushing close to 225 WHP, that should be good for 13s. i would have to say its traction problems, even if you dont realize it, the tires can slip a little when you drag. i got some 14s with nt555Rs for the fronts, havent run em yet though. try either that or a better idea would be an LSD equipped tranny.
traction, is the only problem you should be having. you should be dipping into the 14's every time you run. go with a 14 or 15 like sac said, and lower the tire pressure to around anywhere from 20-25 pounds. then you should be alright.
yeah, but the good fuel maps lean out the mixture to closer to stochiometric ratios, which is normally the best place to be, but if he is running on the lean side, where the power is (right on the brink of detonation) and he engages the nitrous, it could very well toast the engine.
