You are putting WAY too much thought into this than what is needed. Especially for an otherwise stock car.

The pipe you have going to the intake, is dumping air into your engine bay causing turbulence. Why not take off the filter, connect the intake pipe to the pipe you have under the car and attach the filter to that for a cold air intake?

Here's my set-up. The blue stuff on the intake as it goes down is just some tape to prevent the intake rubbing.

The eBay filters are more restrictive than a nice name brand filter (less air flow=less power). They filter worse too.

I have a used dryflow filter with 2.5" inlet. It's in mint condition, aside from being not perfectly clean since it's used. I did clean it a year ago though. AEM website says it needs to be cleaned like every 30,000 miles. It's only been like 8,000 miles since I last cleaned it.
I'll sell it for $30 shipped.

turbulence wont do much if the filter is sucking. and if i put up a heat/windsheild it will be better

plus i live in B.C its it rainy for 5-6 months of the year so the filter below the car=not a good idea

the filter isn't going to get wet unless you're driving through puddle deep enough to reach the filter, or you are missing your fender liners.

And for christ sake, use the edit button. STOP DOUBLE POSTING
