RE: intake bypass valve
You don't need one unless you drive through flooding capable of completely submerging your filter in water. It rains a fair amount here in NC and I haven't hydrolocked yet...

It has been a pretty fierce debate at times, but it does appear the majority of people agree that you do not need one (I know I'm asking for it now)... For the record I just put a AEM CAI on and did not get one. It rained mighty fierce here in MO the last week, and I was forced to drive through some hellacious puddles, and nothing happened.
Once again, my 0.02 based off of much reading here at HCF. |

RE: intake bypass valve
ive told this story before and i'll tell it again. the only time ive ever had experience with hydrolock (and considering my state is a fricken peninsula, surrounded by water, i got it pretty bad with water) is when my friend drove through a puddle in his old 95 lincoln. and let me tell you, this puddle was so deep that after it stopped thundering and lightning, little kids were swimming in it. i **** you not.
and you will lose 1-3 hp by putting on a bypass valve |
