Default Jack Stands

where should i buy good jack stands that won't collapse and kill me? no joke. i plan to work under my car and the idea of getting under it when it's supported by 4 pieces of metal is intimidating

Well if they are on the market then they are pretty damn safe already. I dont think they really keep track of what kinds of jack stands fail when. Youll be fine.

well my Pep Boys jack stands have served me very well for 6 years now...it's the BigRed $20 type.....on the other and I could et ones with a large flat square of metal under them instead of the 4 metal feet type, cuz you definitly don't want those on a garage floor

+1 to Roto
My friend has the ones with the 4 legs. When he uses them on his driveway they leave impressions if he doesnt put any plywood under them. Thats one thing to consider.

i use some kinda 6 ton jack stands that have the 4 legs...they leave impressions from heavy cars on asphalt. i kno cuz i put my friends GTI on em on his driveway and it left impressions...but when i use them on my car on my concrete garage floor, no impressions. i feel very safe while under them too. i've used them countless of times and was under the car earlier today, no concerns...
