K&N Air Filters-- Worth it?
 

I was considering getting a K&N Replacement Air Filter for my 2000 Civic EX. K&N say that they increase horsepower and acceleration. Advance Auto Parts say that they can increase 5-10 horsepower. That's really good for $43.99! (IMO) Can anyone give me some advice on using High Performance Replacement Filters? Do they really increase acceleration? If this is true, I will definitely be picking one up to replace my NAPA Gold Filter. :)

wont do much for our civics. but any name brand filter should do about the same job

its worth it because its reusable. so when it gets dirty clean and oil it up and you can reuse it

you get what you pay for i agree with sfaz the reuse is the most cost effective way to go you might see a real slight diff not much though

Do any direct replacement air filters give even a slightly noticeable HP boost? Is a "High Performance" Direct Replacement filter even comparable to an AEM Short Ram Intake? Are there any sound changes with a K&N filter?

your k&n for the stock intake makes no sound difference. if you want sound get a sri or cai.

Does anybody know how good an APEXi Power Intake is? I can't quite tell how it attaches to anything. Does it use part of the stock intake system? It looks like it.

im using sri right now from aem and im satisfied with the result when it comes to sounds,HP gained not much like what they said in commercials,much better in stocks
