Question keep intake or switch to oem?

hey guys,
I've had my 2000 Civic DX for around 3 years. I bought it used from a guy who put a cool air intake on it. I've always wondered though, is it better to keep the intake or to switch back to the original OEM system? Do you know the pros and cons? I just don't want this thing to damage my car or decrease its performance. I don't know the brand of the intake but took some pics that might help. Thanks.

Eh, go back to stock if you have the parts, or if you can find it cheap enough. That short ram intake is probably not helping with HP that much (give or take 1 HP extra). A cold air intake would continue down into the bumper and position the filter behind the bumper/fender well, thus receiving colder air than the one in the engine bay.

It may just be how the pictures were taken but it looks to me like that intake is too short and probably in a position to suck a LOT of heat from the engine. Could possibly even be hurting performance vs oem. I would get a cold air intake like this one.
aem cold air intake

Y7 SRI intake FTL, Definately look around for a stock one, your engine bay would look 10x cleaner.

He doesn't have an EX or a d16y8 or z6 .. so it's not possible for him to use that intake. Please try linking the correct information next time.
