Looking for new Air Intake

I recently purchased a 2001 honda civc ex. While performing routine maintenance, I noticed my stock air filter housing is pretty beat up. Rather than replacing the stock unit, I was hoping to purchase an inexpensive air intake system (less than $100). I have limited experience with cars so I'm looking for something worth the money and easy to install. Anyone have recommendations? Thank you.

i'm assuming you want to go with an aftermarket intake system?

now the question is do you want a cold air or a short ram? with $100 your best bet would be an ebay piping with a aem dryflow filter. I personally have an AEM short ram with the AEM dryflow filter and i believe i got mines for about $100 but i think the 01 models might cost more than $100. so your best bet would be ebay piping with a quality name brand filter.

Or you can just find a used stock system on craigslist or one from the junk yard

Where are you located? The reason I ask is because some states have strict regulations as to what mods you can install.

The first example which comes to my head is California. All engine modifications must be C.A.R.B. approved. An eBay intake pipe is not, but an AEM intake set-up is.

sfazngiants... Thanks for the advice. I was able to find some cheap short ram intakes on ebay. What is the best air filter in your opinion?

cvcrcr99... I am located in Texas.

aem, injen, k&n makes some good ones. i personally prefer aem dryflow. no oiling necessary.

Has anyone purchased this item or any item from racing_guys on ebay?

It's really cheap so I'm a bit tentative. Is there a store on ebay that sells quality air intakes? Thanks.

For that price it isnt real ti thats just the color ass far as if its worth it you would be better off going to a local hardware store and buying PVC piping I would find something thats going to have the apropriate hose connections as well as a bung that will hold the intake temp sensor if it has one
