Default Mpg from SRI?

I've read that an aftermarket intake such as a SRI or CAI actually helps your gas milage because it allows more air into the engine, however, my dad and others seem to believe that if your engine gets more air, it uses more gas...

Can someone please shed some light on whether intakes help or hurt your gas millage?

depends on which application, usually you see no mpg gains, sometimes you do because it helps with the combustion of the unburnt fuel, which results in more power. the main thing that affects your mileage is the way you drive it, whether it be aggressive or normal.
