Default Muffler/Exhaust Help

Hey. I'm new to the boards...just lookin for some help. Anyway, I have a 96 civic with a body kit, keyless entry, etc. Everything appearance-wise except a paint job. Got it for $2500. Thought it was more than reasonable. Well I dont want it to just look good, I want it to sound good. I want to get a muffler/exhaust (preferrably a catback) for my car. Well I bought one the other day but noticed that for some odd reason my muffler isnt where other cars mufflers are (in the back towards the right). Mine is a little further up and is pushed up a little high. For this reason, I can't install the muffler/exhaust I want. Does anyone know of any way I could lower my muffler and get it more towards the back where it should be? I dont want to have to go to any shops...too much money. Thanks in advance!!!

Unless you have your own welding equipment, I say take it to a shop, muffler shops are dirt cheap, all they do is sit around welding all day, and a job like that won't take more then 30 minutes, so maybe 50 bucks tops at a good local non-chain shop.

It's better done right. A cat-back should just bolt up with your car if its the right one for your model, if not, its possible that someone else screwed it up long ago, and your left with the mess. Take it in and have it looked at, at least get a quote. Maybe they will tell you what they would do, and you can go home and DIY.

Here are the pics of my civic. It's hard to see what i was talkin about with the muffler though. From the pics it looks closer to the back. As you can see, I have a long tail pipe. I just have a tip on there until i can find a way to get the real thing on
