Muffler/high flow cat suggestions
Hi all. Looking for some muffler and high flow cat suggestions and opinions. My budget is about $200/each.
Since I live in Florida, and we could care less about emmisions I might do a cat delete, but if possible I'd like to get a cat. What are the pros/cons to having no cat? |
Research pros and cons.
cliff notes -you don't gain much extra hp -you pollute the environment -you are breaking laws technically with a cat delete. |
FL doesn't require vehicles to pass an emissions inspection.

Please re-read my previous post. I never mentioned emissions testing anywhere. By laws, I mean federal laws.

Sorry for the confusion. By "laws" I thought you meant state laws. Did my research and there is in fact a big federal fine (2,500 dollars) for tampering with emissions equipment.
So back to the question at hand... Any suggestions for aftermarket performance mufflers and high flow cats? |
Magnaflow cats seem to be fine from the forum's experiences.
Muffler is up to you. Youtube searches can allow you to hear what each sounds like. My vote goes for Apexi WS-2. The $400 total may be out of your reach with the WS2 set-up. My suggestion would be to skip the cat converter, since a performance cat converter (while still legal) really won't help much unless you HAVE to replace your current unit. With that $400 you might be able to find a WS2 exhaust kit which would replace everything from behind the cat converter. If not, you can go with the knock off company version, Yonaka. I have heard that they are decent, but no info on longevity though. |

If you like the Apexi-WS2 sound, and you don't mind paying for quality parts, then go for it. I have been using my Apexi WS2 for like 3-4 years now.. and I bought it used, too. Still looks and sounds like it would brand new.
