I have the stock exhaust on my civic and it rattles bad when i rev it. It sound like the rattles are coming from the front of the car.. is this something to bitch about to the dealership or is it common??

Someone else just asked about this last week and I believe the problem was a loose heat sheild.

I had the same problem. It turned out to be two things:

Ok, I couldnt find it so ill say it again (if any of you do ill make it a sticky), It is either your heat shield under your manifold or it is the heat sheild on the muffler, they tend to rust at times and all you need is a plumbers bracket to tighten it up. You could also completly remove it... it wouldnt do any thing to my knowledge. Does any body reject?

I have no manifold heat shield anymore (rattled off about 3 months ago) and I also have no catalytic converter cover (the bottom half rusted off a year ago) and everything seems to be okay... my entire car has not melted due to lack of heat shields

My 90 hatch back gets hot inside, too. May be heat shield on exhausts pipe are gone. I have to check it out. Or may be not having carpet is a reason for being hot. mmmm

Well if it is 05civ like your username states than go to the dealer and have them figure out what the hell is wrong.
