Need Help installing Cold Air Intake
The fact that you couldn't install 1 bolt, plug in a few hoses SHOWS you're a tool and have failed at life. Also congratulations that you can figure out how an intake sucks air I hope you didn't spend most of the day figuring out that one but If you actually did any research you would have known that you would have lost throttle response with a CAI and overall gain 1whp like Trust said, but don't worry you already knew that right

If you had any intelligence You'd know that I was talking about your CAI. Do you have a CAI? Yes, Is It Installed? No because you have a SRI your quite obviously to inept because you had to create a post on how to Install one of the simplest mods possible. Congratulations You Fail. I'm sure will see more posts of your like "How do you change your bulbs" or " How do I top up my Vtech!?!!".

So after reading like 20 posts, 15 of them being insults, I'll ask a question!
So he knows there's the obvious gain from CAI, but from what it seems he won't really notice any whip or hp gain for at least two obvious reasons:
1) his engine (from what I've read)
2) the BV
I'm guessing from a very uneducated background that the reason the CAI gets more of an "gain" than an SRI is because the air that comes in is ultimately more compressed than otherwise, simply because the air it takes in is colder. So there are no technicalities there and go ahead and yell at me, I probably won't read it if I don't find it helpful.
So I guess a question for him would be, is the CAI even worth it. Considering his lack of knowledge for installation (no offense), the fitment issues, and the "gain" he is or isn't getting.
And another question might be, is the BV worth it on either a CAI or SRI

Bypass valves aren't worth it on either because an SRI isn't going to make you hydrolock unless you submerge the front end of the car in water, and in that case hydrolocking is not what you should be concerned about. By putting a bypass valve on a CAI you reduce your gains from the CAI to what you would get with an SRI with NO bypass valve. Therefore, bypass valves on CAIs are pointless because you are making the same power as an SRI for nearly 3 times the price.
I don't understand why putting the bypass valve reduces gains. Can you explain that to me?
Also, if I were to just install the other pipe would there, then, be significant enough gains from the Short Ram Intake?
And to clear things for everyone. The only "issue" I had was knowing whether or not I had to take the bumper off. Everyone's getting all these ideas popping into their heads without actually reading what I'm saying.

No. Like I already said, it's like 1WHP of a difference.

that will let you know how it works....and for a CAI taking hte bumper off is easier, sometimes not necesarry, it varies between models. Definitely not with the SRI though

I did it without taking the bumper off, but you might have a harder time. It's only a few snaps to take off the bumper If you're really having an issue go to K&N and find the DIY they've made for installing there CAI it will work with every CAI.
