D16Z6 and D16Y8 camshafts are slightly different in lobe size I think but are still interchangeable due to fitment.

I'm really not sure about using the regular VTEC camshaft on your engine... it could be entirely possible (in conjunction with using the D16Y8 ECU) but it could also be impossible. You'll have to a lot of research to figure this out. I think it's most likely possible though.

Yea it's SOHC.

Get a Megan Racing 4-2-1 header on eBay. They're the best value quality header. Just make sure on the midway flange you torque the bolts down good.

4-2-1 is better for mid to high end power, 4-1 for high end power. The way your engine is you will be spending most of acceleration time in mid to lower high end of the powerband (provided that you launch at a good RPM).

The easiest way to install a header is to do this:
1. Unplug O2 sensor from engine harness.
2. Unbolt old header (exhaust manifold)/cat combo (no need to unbolt the manifold into 2 pieces. remove as one piece)
3. remove from car with O2 sensors still in the header (exhaust manifold) by lowering it underneath the car
4. Use a wrench and a good position to get the O2 sensors out of the manifold.
5. Put new 2 piece header together (torque bolts down good! make sure flanges are clean!)
6. Install O2 sensor into header
7. Install onto car by raising it into the engine bay from underneath
8. plug O2 sensor in
9. wipe off header thoroughly, preferably with goop hand cleaner or similar (unless you want the grease to burn into the finish when you start it up for the first time... i learned this the hard way)
10. drive a little
11. let it cool down
12. retorque all bolts (except maybe the ones to the cat)
13. enjoy

yes the y5 is SOHC, the only DOHC D-series is the d16zc, which comes in both SOHC and DOHC.

4-2-1 is supposdelyb etter for mid-range power and 4-1 for top-end, but you're not gonna feel a big difference anyway.

PasswordJDM.com has o2 extensions.

and most exhaust shops will custom weld/bend some pipe for you for cheap. I think the EX header, EX cat + o2 extension, then custom 2.25"/2,5" piping back to the WS2 muffler is your best bet.

Header: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MEGAN...ht_2590wt_1354

Catalytic Converter: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

O2 Sensor Extension (not sure of length you need): http://passwordjdm.com/PasswordJDM-O...t-P1767C0.aspx

Exhaust: custom piping and this... or if you want the whole catback, this

I recommend the Megan Racing header due to quality for price; the catalytic converter for quality, fitment quality, bolt-on fitment, and its high-flow aspect; and you already know why I recommend the exhaust.

These links provided are (I'm 99% sure) the best deals on the net, trust me.

also make sure when you remove the bolt for the old header to spray some wd40 or some blaster to losen up the bolts...

Good find, I was unaware of that. When I bought mine it was $435 shipped on ebay and at the time that was the best I could find.

The one I linked you to was bolt-on. This has to be welded on. That's the reason for the higher price... a cleaner, faster, and more convenient install. Also, they don't have an O2 bung preinstalled.
