next: exhaust then header

next: exhaust then header
Installing the K&N 63 Series Air Intake was a breeze and quite fun. After about a month of operation I calculate a 14% increase in fuel mileage. Total scorage.
Next I plan on upgrading the exhaust and later the header. However, I'm concerned about noise. I drive this car a lot, over 100 miles a day, I don't want an exhaust system that is going to make my car much noisier than it is now.
I've seen people recommend the Greddy Evo2 when noise is a question. I've also come across the RSR ExMag Cat Back that claims to be the quietest exhaust on the market. I have two issues before buying it: A) I don't see any performance claims on ANY site, B) I haven't found one for the 01-05 lx coupe (d17a1).
So, here we go: increase airflow for a more efficient engine, keep noise to a minimum. As for how it looks, I don't really care, I don't look at that end anyway.
Haven't started looking at headers yet, but any suggestions?

Well, I have a 05 lx exhaust system from magnaflow. Greddy also makes an exhaust system for the LX but it's not the evo II. It's called SPS 2. I went with magnaflow because it was in my price range of $350 to $400.
You can check out their site and hear sound clips for the exhaust. I like mines, it's not loud and it fit perfectly. Check out these pics.

- quietest exhaust note on the market (most applications)
- refined stealth like appearance
- ceramic coated mandrel bent piping
- dyno proven gains in horsepower and torque
- engineered in Japan
- signature RS-R exhaust tip
- constructed with 409 stainless steel for long life
So, what does "dyno proven gains in horsepower and torque" mean to you? Sounds like a performance gain claim to me.

That's not a claim of performance gain, that's a marketing ***** platitude.
meh, I going to guess that it's probably not a good exhaust. If they had significant numbers to print, they'd include them. And 409 stainless steel is pretty cheap stuff, most exhausts are made from it, so it's kind of pointless to mention it.

And what would you be saying if they didn't mention "409 stainless steel"?
Buy the thing, because I know deep inside you really want it, and you won't be happy until you get it. If you gave me the money, that would be the exhaust that I would buy.
