odd smell after installing exhaust?

Default odd smell after installing exhaust?

sup everyone
i jsut installed my exhaust and it kinda has a burnt rubber smell in my car now and i was wondering if it was normal to smell it right away cuz the exhaust is new and its heating everything up for the first time...or maybe if the WD 40 i sprayed on the bolts was burnin or somethin.....let me know what ya think......peace

it's your gaskets. Don't worry about it. It will go away in ~2 weeks.

Also something you may want to check, is whether or not your tip is resting on your bumper. I made that mistake..

Yeah just check the make sure you're not burning your rear bumper, but any exhaust mod usually smells kinda odd for a little while.

my friend put a new exhaust on his car and sprayed some grape smelling stuff in it... his car smells like grapes when he's driving now. i hate artificial grape stuff.

all exhaust smell until they get carbon built up in them....should go away anywere from a week to 2 weeks

Yeah I thought i did something wrong too but turns out that its jsut the new exhuast burning off the chems in the tubes it did go away after 2 1/2 weeks so yeap no worries.
