okay, uhm exhaust?

i don't know much about cars, but then I do want it to sound pretty nice
what exhaust should I get? like ones that are not too loud, but pretty good.
man, I really need to learn about cars lol

RE: okay, uhm exhaust?

You should just read up and down the H/I/Esection and you'll find out faster than waiting for a response... which will tell you to search it. More money=better sounding is pretty much the way it goes. Dont go cheap like I did, the rumble is sooo annoying on long drives.

Apexi World Sport II

Man I miss that exhaust so much, it was quieter than stock and then sounded beautiful when you romped on it. Gave it up to a full 3" stainless setup that's quite a bit louder.

RE: okay, uhm exhaust?

kay I'll check the HIE section..
thanks guys
wait, so if I install the Exhaust, will I need to do more? How much good will it do to my Car?

RE: okay, uhm exhaust?

2hp. you might want to get a header along with the exhaust to fully utilize the power it offers

so it was quieter than stock? really? the loudness is one of the few things thats keeping me from getting an aftermarket exhaust. I have a feeling some of the power of my v2 and dc header is being lost do to the stock is exhaust.

RE: okay, uhm exhaust?

would $600 be enough for them?

rmg35 12-20-2006 11:51 AM

RE: okay, uhm exhaust?

should get you a pretty nice one for that amount of cake

TheMoogly 12-20-2006 01:41 PM

RE: okay, uhm exhaust?

Yeah 600 would get a nice exhaust... you can always look for a good deal, but dont go for a "crazy" deal, you know... I spent 350 and I regret going for 3" pipes... so loud.

RE: okay, uhm exhaust?

i had a greddy evo2 and i LOVED it. its about..500-550 shipped on ebay. sorry no sound clips..but i know there are a few floating on google or on these forums.

does 3" piping have a low tone moogly?

98 EJ8 12-20-2006 10:34 PM

RE: okay, uhm exhaust?

i have an exhaust made by a company called Number one...it looks like a greddy evo except its about 200 bucks cheaper...i paid 375 ...sounds great...not loud or raspy at alll!!

drbyers 12-20-2006 11:10 PM

RE: okay, uhm exhaust?

for $600, you should be able to get just about any catback you want, short of a Tanabe or similar high-end brands.

go for a Greddy SP or Apexi World Sport 2 if you want low growls.

if you want something loud and ricier go for the Greddy N1, Blox or Skunk2s. they're loud all the way across.

whatever you buy, don't go ebay special, because the exhaust pitch will get louder, and louder and louder, until you want to cut your ears off like van gogh... or Moogly. lol.

I'd suggest a Magnaflow, I got mine a while back for about that price and it's been awesome...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpxdI9Yht9A minus the cameras rasping sounds. Thats my own custom exhaust system, cost me about $250 Now you decide

CHeck out the Megan Racing Drift Spec. Nice low, smooth tone, but creates sweet music to your ears when you floor it

It's a little bit loud n/a, but definitely not unbearable, and comes with a silencer. Under boost, it's quieter than stock and sounds mean as hell at WOT

or Moogly. lol.
hahahahha come on byers. Alright yea, GReddy Evo2, Apexi WS2, or Magnaflow ftw. Custom can be real good too. A little more work, a little more time, but can prolly save you a few dollars and you get somehting nobody else has.

For a custom, get a quality muffler, resonator and high-flow cat, and take it to a shop that doest mandrel bending. Tell them you want 2.25" piping all the way form the header back, and you're set:)

Why is it that everytime some one asks for an exhaust that performs well but itsn' loud nobody ever says RSR Ex-Mag? it is the quietest exhaust(marketed as anyway) and performs well... i plan on getting it,

FlipHKD720 12-22-2006 10:07 AM

never heard of it Fiirkan. might have to you tube it

HARI. Agreed with me one time when i mentioned it to someone asking about exhausts, and if someone with a hatch like his agrees then it has to be pretty good:)

Apexi World Sport 2 seems pretty good...letme think more about them...and I really wouldn't wanna use up 600 on exhaust

You are going to get another vote for the EVO2 from this guy. I have it on mine and LOVE it. Apexi WS2 is also good, but in my opinion the evo2 blows it out of the water in both style and sound.

Wow, it's been a loooong time since i have been on here :-S
