Default open header hehehehe

ok, so i removed my exhaust today from my header for ****s and giggles for some research, here are my findings...

Observation 1. Loud as F#*$
Observation 2. VTEC comes in louder than observation 1
Observation 3. No exhaust = no power
Observation 4. Wait to reinstall exhaust until AFTER the header cools lol

Do you gain power off the line or do you open it up afterwards to gain power? I had cut outs on my 65 Mustang and it lost all it grunt of the line and picked up the power in the mid to high range.

Generally, the more the exhaust flows, the lower the velocity, and the lower the velocity, the higher the powerband shifts.

Open headers sacrifice a lot of torque for some high RPM gains. When I took my 85 monte circle track car from street stock to super stock class, I went from shorty exhaust to open headers and noticed a loss of torque with a slight gain in top end pull.
